Pilot Role Guide

Air Support

Puts you in the Mi-28 Havoc attack helicopter and other air assets — the highest skill ceiling in the roster and the highest-value kills when you're good, the fastest way to burn your whole budget when you're not. Best learned in a near-empty server before you fly it into a 100-player Control Zone fight.

Pilot Unlock Progression

Levels are within the Pilot tree, not your overall WARDOGS account level. Sourced from early-access and beta gameplay — verify against the latest patch notes if you're mid-season, since Bulkhead tunes unlock costs and levels per patch.

Lv.0

Little Bird

Starter transport helicopter — fill every seat you can, every life you fly one.

Lv.0

Blackhawk

Bigger unlock than it sounds: the extra seats matter less than the ability to carry cargo pallets, which became the standard once players stopped manually loading crates by hand.

What Players Are Saying

Community consensus from current early-access play — a read on the present patch, not a permanent tier list. Expect this to shift after balance passes.

Pilot has the highest skill ceiling in the roster and, when flown well, the highest-value contribution per life — but it's also the fastest way to burn a loadout's worth of cash into a crash while learning. Practice in the Firing Range first; crashing a helicopter bought with real cash is a real loss, crashing one in the range costs nothing.

Making Money as Pilot

Role-specific tactics — for the full cross-role money-making guide, see How the WARDOGS Economy Works.

  • A full Little Bird roughly breaks even on the ride alone from the XP/cash you get for the transport — any kills your passengers get on top are a bonus, and you'll often hear their kill confirmation sound mid-flight, which doubles as situational awareness.
  • If you can't fill every seat with people, fill the empty space with IEDs or supply crates instead — sell them to teammates on landing, or pre-position them near a Control Zone push you expect to happen later and collect the payout on a different life.
  • Like Driver, the fastest way through a stalled Pilot grind is offering to gun or co-pilot for a friend who already has the attack helicopter unlocked — everyone aboard gets role XP off the vehicle's kills.
