Assault Role Guide

Frontline Rifleman

The generalist entry point: spend most of your $10,000 on a solid primary rifle, a sidearm, and armor, then push the Control Zone. No specialist gear to learn — just aim and objective play. AK74 or M4 covers most fights for a fraction of the FAL's price.

Assault Unlock Progression

Levels are within the Assault tree, not your overall WARDOGS account level. Sourced from early-access and beta gameplay — verify against the latest patch notes if you're mid-season, since Bulkhead tunes unlock costs and levels per patch.

Lv.3

AK74

First meaningful upgrade over the free starter rifles — budget entry point.

Lv.10

Galil

Widely agreed upgrade: more damage per shot, easier to control at range despite the slower fire rate.

Lv.20

M4

Faster fire rate on paper, but its recoil is harder to control — several players rate it a sidegrade or even a downgrade from the Galil. Always run the 30-round mag, never the 20.

Lv.35

FAL

Consensus best-in-slot. Run it full-auto, or flip to single-shot with a 4x scope for an improvised DMR.

What Players Are Saying

Community consensus from current early-access play — a read on the present patch, not a permanent tier list. Expect this to shift after balance passes.

AK74 → Galil → FAL is the agreed-upon power curve. The M4 is the outlier: it unlocks after the Galil but a fair number of players actively prefer sticking with the Galil over it, purely because the M4's recoil is harder to hold at its faster fire rate.

The FAL's single-shot + 4x-scope mode turns it into a mini marksman rifle mid-fight, without spending a loadout slot on a separate sniper — useful if you're flexing between close and long engagements in the same life.

Making Money as Assault

Role-specific tactics — for the full cross-role money-making guide, see How the WARDOGS Economy Works.

  • Assault is the cheapest role to gear and the most forgiving to die in — good for banking savings early while you learn the map, before pushing a more specialist (and more expensive) role.
  • A cheap Assault kit plus a Support-tree RPG-7 (once you have it) covers you against both infantry and vehicles for well under half the FAL's price.
